Interview with Alessio Gironi – From Export Manager to CEO of Campisa Srl

Alessio, congratulations on your new role. Can you tell us about your career at Campisa?
A.G.: Thank you. I joined Campisa in 2018 as Export Manager, a role that allowed me to get to know international markets closely and build fundamental relationships for the company’s growth beyond national borders. In 2024, I took on the role of Sales Director, and today, with great pride and sense of responsibility, I have been appointed CEO. This evolution was also made possible by a fundamental change in governance. The President of BMP group, having acquired all of Campisa’s shares, decided to entrust me with this important role; I thank him for his trust. I see this as a great opportunity, but also as a deep commitment to the entire company.
How does the strategy change with this corporate transition?
A.G.: With Danilo Benotto as the owner, Campisa has been integrated even more into the group’s vision, which is very strong at an international level. Currently, our sales are distributed 70% in the Italian market and 30% in foreign markets. Over the next 3-5 years, we aim to completely reverse this ratio, reaching 70% export. It’s an ambitious but necessary challenge to continue growing. We want Campisa to play a relevant role also in markets where other group companies are already well established. Internationalization will no longer be just a direction, but a strategic priority.
How will the organizational structure evolve to support this plan?
A.G.: To achieve these objectives, it’s essential to strengthen the internal organization. At this stage, I maintain the interim position of Sales Director, but the introduction of a new figure in this role is already planned, which is fundamental to face the complexity and opportunities that await us. At the same time, we are restructuring the Italian commercial network, with a more widespread presence of dealers and service centers, to improve service and coverage. Furthermore, General Contractors and key clients will be handled by a dedicated Sales & Key Account Manager, who will work in close synergy with management to ensure continuity, personalization and value in the customer relationship.
What is your vision for Campisa in the medium-long term?
A.G.: I envision Campisa as an international, modern company, but firmly rooted in its values: technical competence, reliability, customer focus. We want to be not just manufacturers, but trusted partners for those seeking advanced solutions in the market of industrial logistics. We will work on three main axes:
- Internationalization, to expand markets and opportunities;
- Internal efficiency, to improve processes and reduce complexity;
- Enhancement of human capital, because people are and will remain our most important asset.
What message do you want to leave to your team in this moment of transition?
A.G.: We are facing a key moment in our history. The challenges are real, but so are our skills and our potential. My message is simple: let’s believe in it together. The direction is clear, the changes will be profound but guided with consistency. I ask everyone to be an active part of this process, to bring ideas, energy and sense of responsibility. Campisa has a great history behind it and an interesting road ahead. Together we can make it solid, innovative and international.
